Belihuloya sits where the hill country's steep slopes drop toward the southern lowlands, a green river valley known for natural rock pools, waterfalls and its position near Horton Plains National Park's less-visited southern entrance at Ohiya.
Natural rock pools along the Belihuloya river are popular for a cool swim, a rarity at this altitude in Sri Lanka.
The quieter Ohiya entrance to Horton Plains National Park is accessible from here, an alternative to the busier Nuwara Eliya approach.
Belihuloya offers a quieter southern approach to Horton Plains via the World's End hike, and sits close to Ratnapura.
